The Med School Project is a series of reports and documentaries by the health and medical journalism students in the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism.
Students covered a new partnership between Augusta University and the University of Georgia, which created a four-year medical education program to help alleviate a statewide shortage of physicians. The first class of medical students in Athens began classes in August 2010.
Grady College graduate students worked under the direction of Patricia Thomas— executive producer and former Knight Chair— to detail what the partnership would mean to the community and the state.
